Cocktail Fundraiser for Armenia | Bridging the Borders

1 min read

Our alumni stay committed to a continuous effort to implement projects aiming at developing their homeland. One of such projects is Bridging the Borders, an NGO based in LA, USA co-founded by Araik Sinanyan (2014 alumni, U.S.) and Susan Aksu-Movsesian. The NGO defines its vision as "an Armenia that is sustainable, thriving, and creating a global impact." They base their initiatives on the core ideas of solidarity, mindfulness, integrity, accountability, service, and transparency.

The team has already carried out numerous projects including a fundraiser for Artsakh to provide immediate support for Artsakh families in need, a celebration of Navasard to revive Armenian traditions, a documentary featuring an Armenian-American woman who participated in the Artsakh war of the 1990s, a vocational space in Stepanakert to produce commercial goods, etc. After the war in Armenia, they succeeded to collect over $8000 from their network and flew to the warzone to distribute these funds to families affected by the war.

To celebrate Armenian Heritage Month, Bridging the Borders is organizing a cocktail fundraiser for about 90 guests at the Tufenkian Art Gallery on April 30th! Proceeds will be going to their general fund to support the ongoing and upcoming projects.
