Exciting news! On September 12, 2020, Armenia has reopened its air borders and we are now starting to receive new participants. Now, not only Armenia citizens but also foreigners can finally enter the country after months of lockdown. This article has summarized essential information that you need to have before arriving in Armenia.
· From which countries can I travel to Armenia?
Air traffic to Armenia is now open and many flights that operated pre-lockdown are starting to offer flights to Armenia. Only air borders are open; you cannot enter Armenia by its land border.
· Are there currently flights to Armenia?
Yes, flights from major international airports are currently operating. Please check with your travel agency or favorite website for more information.
· Is there an obligatory quarantine or test upon my arrival to Armenia?
Anyone who has just entered Armenia can choose to either quarantine for 14 days or take a PCR test. If the PCR test comes out negative, there will not be a need to self-quarantine. It is advised that you have the tests done at your place of isolation, so there is less risk of spreading the contagion on your way to/from testing labs. Here’s a list of testing laboratories along with contact information.
Note: Remember that you should have a mask on in public spaces, both indoor and outdoor, once in Armenia. It is also mandatory to have your ID with you at all times. For more comprehensive information in English on all current regulations, please visit the page of the US embassy in Armenia.
