Many of you might be looking for opportunities to engage in Armenia as a volunteer but you don't yet meet our 21 years old minimum age requirement. No need to worry. We’ve listed several opportunities that would welcome your participation, as young as age 13, and you’re welcome to explore these possibilities directly with those organizations.
The Tumo Center for Creative Technologies Summer Camp
With Camp TUMO, participants from the ages of 12-18 have the chance to take part in high-intensity versions of TUMO’s workshops. From June 20 to July 30, they’ll have the chance to learn and then hone their skills in one of four focus areas: animation, filmmaking, web development and game development. Along with these focus areas, they’ll learn skills in such complementary fields as robotics, photography, drawing and music.
Aside from the knowledge they will be gaining from their time at Camp TUMO, they will also have the chance to visit some of Armenia’s most beautiful historic and natural sites, take part in fun athletic activities and make life-long friends in the process. Learn more about it on their website.
The Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia
The Ministry runs the Ari Tun (Welcome Back Home) program for Armenian diasporan youth starting at the age of 13 up to 21. The program spans the months of May through October, and each session lasts 2 weeks. As their website states: “By visiting Armenia and participating in the “ARI TUN” program, you will have the opportunity to delve into the history and culture of Armenia, which is called the ethnic Homeland. You will also have a unique opportunity to live with a host family and make friends from Armenia and different countries around the world. We are waiting for you.” Find more information by visiting the program’s website.
