2 min read

It's the internship hunt season! Have you thought of doing your internship with us here in Armenia while getting exposed to your homeland's local culture, work environment, and daily life? Yes, it is possible! Thanks to our growing network of 1,300+ partner organizations all over Armenia, we can make it possible for you right after we receive your application. We have for you below some insights from our program participants and partners.

"I realized that I have to find opportunities to further engage with the local Armenian community by taking part in internships at organizations that aim to serve the community," tells Harout Markossian, a 21-year-old political science student from Lebanon. He is currently completing his university internship at a public and a private organization simultaneously. Harout is helping with political research and analysis at Human Rights Defender's Office and ARDI - Armenian Research & Development Institute.

Come intern in Armenia

One of our most active partners is GeoVibe, a geospatial technology, and services company, founded to Maximize the utilization of location intelligence to give a boost to the economy, the country's security, and opportunities for future generations. The organization is looking to host, teach, and train students who specialize in or are interested in data science, GIS consultancy, Java Script, business development, and marketing. Since the beginning of our cooperation, GeoVibe hosted four Birthright Armenia program participants: Narine Gevorkyan, a 29-year-old Economist from Russia, Nora Kartun, a 25-year-old Aerospace Engineer from Germany, Narek Sarkissian, a 23-year-old business specialist from Germany, Devin Mchugh, a 28-year old Environmental Scientist from the US. More volunteers will join them in the upcoming months.

What about outside of Yerevan volunteering?

And of course, how can our internship highlights be complete without outside-of-Yerevan opportunities? Below, you can read insights by Anait Avetisyan, a 24-year-old Translator from Russia with neither comments nor interpretations from our side.

"Coming to Armenia is always the right decision, whether it is for a week, two, or three. But coming to Armenia with Birthright Armenia was the best decision. I felt how happy and relaxed I am every single day in Gyumri for all three months because I was at home. I understood what it was like to work together with my Armenian peers. We went to dinner together, to all our havaks and forums. When I came to Armenia I was afraid to feel lonely. But this was not the case. Armenia is a big family, and my host family proved it. Gyumri is a city that I fell in love with on the first day, and I will always praise and recommend it to my friends and acquaintances, as there is so much to do in Gyumri, there is a lot to learn."
